Officers Address
As Club Officers for
2010 we are very mindful of the honour which our predecessors have
bestowed on us. We are fully committed to justifying this faith by
fulfilling our responsibilities throughout the year such that the
Club continues to evolve as successfully as it has done in the past.
Our Centenary Year
was a great success and our collective gratitude is due to all those
who gave freely of their time – directly and indirectly – to make
it as memorable as it is for us all. In keeping with our great spirit
and sense of commitment many of the same members, together with some
new, are busy working in various roles managing the Clubs affairs
and putting in place the structures and events that will form the
highlights of 2010. We wish to thank all those Members for their ongoing
efforts and look forward to working with them as the year progresses.
We ask that all Members
become familiar with the various activities within the Club, and where
possible, lend support. It is important for the wellbeing of the Club
that our facilities such as the bar and restaurant are also utilised,
not just for social functions and golf events, but to entertain family
and friends as well. Also, Douglas Members are well known for giving
expression to a unique club spirit through the support given to club
teams and players and we know, as in previous years, we can rely on
this tradition being upheld in 2010.
We are also looking
forward, very much, to the opportunities which our Offices provide
us to represent the Club externally at all golfing and social events
in the year ahead.
It is our fervent intention
for 2010 to ensure that Douglas Golf Club continues to justify its
strong reputation as a friendly, hospitable and vibrant place for
the benefit of all its members, their families and of course, our
welcome visitors.
We wish you all good
health, happiness and great golf in Douglas Golf Club for 2010.
